  • January 15, 2008. The National ISM Report on Business changed its weighting formula used to calculate the PMI to an equal weighting formula. The Econometric Center adopted the same weighting formula beginning January 2008 for all the states included in the Southeastern PMI. All prior historical PMI data has also been adjusted to the new weighting formula for consistency.


  • May 25, 2007. The Kennesaw State University's Econometric Center in conjunction with the Georgia Industry Association, Georgia Quick Start and the accounting firm Habif, Arogeti & Wynne, LLP is glad to present the study: 2007 Performance and Practices of Georgia's Manufacturing Firms. This study, based on the results of a mail survey of 2,500 manufacturing firms in Georgia, highlights characteristics of leading companies, industry trends, and corporate best practices.


  • May 15, 2007. The Kennesaw State University's Econometric Center is glad to present its new online service: PriceQuantics® version 1.0. PriceQuantics® is a web-based infrastructure that intelligently collects, analyzes, and forecasts prices of over 5,000 commodity and industrial products, based on price indexes elaborated by the Bureau of Labor Statistics. This version 1.0 takes seasonality and trend observed in monthly prices of the last 5 years, expressed as indexes, to predict monthly prices for the next 5 years.


  • March 30, 2007. The Kennesaw State University's Econometric Center has been invited and will be partnering with Brillian's Business To Business Magazine and the accounting firm Frazier and Deeter, LLC in conducting the study: "2007 Business To Business Best Practices of Georgia Middle Market Companies". This study aims to analyze corporate best practices and identify outstanding companies in the following categories: fastest growing, financial performance, innovation, human capital and best overall practices.


  • December 15, 2006. The Kennesaw State University's Econometric Center is glad to announce the release of first issues (November '06) of Purchasing Managers Index reports for Louisiana and Mississippi. The Purchasing Managers Index Report for the U.S. Southeast now includes six states: Georgia, Tennessee, Florida, Alabama, Louisiana, and Mississippi, and is aligned with the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta.


  • September 15, 2006. The Kennesaw State University's Econometric Center is glad to announce the release of first issues (August '06) of Purchasing Managers Index reports for Tennessee, Florida, and Alabama. After preparing the PMI report for Georgia for 15 years, the Center with this step is broaden its analysis scope to the U.S. Southeast region.


  • April 28, 2006. The Kennesaw State University's Econometric Center is glad to present its new IT acquisition for survey-based research: Survetics®. This product is a state-of-the-art software infrastructure, developed in .NET/SQL Server and hosted by 1and1®. It is capable of managing diverse, medium-large size projects, to respond to the constantly growing demand of survey-based research by the private private sector, including manufacturing, financial and consulting, and real state organizations, among others.
